The Future City Built on OLED Unveiled at K-Display 2022

Aug 12, 2022
There is the white-tone booth of K-Display 2022, and various kinds of OLED TVs are displayed while showing various screens.

LG Display presents an exhibition from Aug 10th to 12th, with a theme of ‘A City Inspired by OLED’ at K-Display 2022(Korea Display Exhibition) at COEX, Seoul, South Korea. K-Display is Korea’s largest and only display exhibition and LG Display’s exhibition is designed to allow visitors to experience how OLED technology has brought a dramatic transformation for the cities.

OLED.EX Town The Game-Changing Evolution of OLED.EX

Various OLED panels are installed in the exhibition hall, and each panel shows a clear picture of various colors.
OLED panels installed on tripods, shelves, and the front wall are exhibited, and a super-size photo spot is displayed on the right side.

LG Display’s exhibition at K-Display 2022, held under the theme of OLED’s innovative transformation of cities, has three different zones. One of the three zones that greets visitors first is the “OLED.EX Town,” which depicts LG Display’s OLED philosophy and ten years of history. LG Display has been tirelessly committed to the goals of achieving Natural Reality for the most sophisticated expression of all colors of nature without the least possibility of distortion and making OLED’s revolutionary picture quality available to as many customers as possible throughout its ten years of history. The brainchild that epitomized LG Display’s long-standing commitment is OLED’s Evolutionary Experience, OLED.EX.

At this exhibition, OLED.EX, the world’s largest 97-inch OLED TV, made its debut for the first time in South Korea. Thanks to the Thin Actuator Sound OLED technology applied to the panel, OLED.EX emits sound directly from its screen without a separate speaker. The combination of the super-size screen and multi-dimensional sound creates a cinema-like immersive experience for the visitors.

OLED.T Town Transparent OLED’s Living Space Innovation

OLED.T Town demonstrates how Transparent OLED plays an essential role in our everyday life as a media art wall, showcase, wall skin, conference room window, and many others. When turned off, large screens used to be a black monster that disturbs the décor of the space. But Transparent OLED is different. Because a Transparent OLED media art wall shows the design and texture of the wall behind the panel, it not only fits in beautifully, but is also the best way for any product ads, brand story, and design patterns to merge perfectly with the space.

A Transparent OLED showcase can overlay content on products, bringing the unique excellence of the products, such as the birth and value of the brand, to life. Since the glass-like transparency no longer blocks the interior design at the back, a Transparent OLED wall skin can be installed at the office, lobby, retail store, or at home to play various types of content to transform and elevate the ambiance.

Once Transparent OLED becomes the glass wall of a conference room, bulky displays are no longer needed, creating a significantly more spacious setting. Even better, the Transparent OLED conference room window turns transparent when not in use, opening up the view. The Transparent OLED window can not only serve as a screen for video conferences but add 3D holograms to your meetings, making presentations feel more alive than ever.

The last zone at LG Display’s exhibition is OLED Plaza, where concept design products only the extraordinarily slim and light OLED can be built into and super-size Transparent OLED photo spots await, presenting you with the future of display that OLED technology has single-handedly enabled. From 55” H-Beam for which H-Beams in civil engineering were the motif, 65” Tripod with portability and a pivot function, and 55” Trolley which can be moved with ease thanks to a thin, light OLED screen attached to a mobile trolley, LG Display’s constant research and development of products that combine state-of-the-art OLED technology and design concepts is enhancing the value of our living spaces and user experience.

Someday, the future city in your imagination could eventually become the landscape of a city in the real world. Be it the present or future of the city, LG Display will stay committed to the evolution of OLED technology and continue to make urban life safer, smarter, and more convenient.
